Gift Aid - make your fundraising effort work harder for your chosen charity

You can make your fund raising effort even more rewarding.

The charity you choose can reclaim tax at the basic rate on the sponsor money you raise, to increase the value of your donation - it's worth 25pence for each £1 you raise!

If you have chosen to raise sponsor money via Virgin Money Giving, Gift Aid will be reclaimed where appropriate by Virgin Money Giving and sent direct to your chosen charity.

If raising sponsor money using the official Great Midlands Fun Run Sponsor Form, your individual sponsors need to provide their full name, home address, postcode and tick the Gift Aid box on your sponsor form. Your nominated charity/voluntary group, if a registered charity, can then reclaim the tax back on your donation and receive approximately 25p for every pound donated at no extra cost to you or your sponsors.

Your sponsors will need to have paid UK income tax or capital gains tax at least equal to the amount of tax reclaimed. It is critical you ensure each sponsor provides their full name, home address and postcode otherwise your chosen charity cannot reclaim the Gift Aid.

Once you have collected all of your sponsor money, please ensure you have completed the details in the box at the top of your sponsor sheet as far as possible and post the whole sponsorship form to Great Midlands Fun Run, PO Box 16372, TAMWORTH, B77 9LQ. We will then forward your sponsor form and your sponsor money to your nominated charity to enable them to reclaim the Gift Aid tax.
