raised this year
This
year, Great Midlands Fun Run entrants raised a record-breaking
£201,371, which will be distributed to a record number 240
charities and voluntary organisations nominated by those who
participated in the event.

Sponsors and representatives from some of the charities attended
The Presentation at the Trinity Centre, Sutton Coldfield,
Sunday 29 November to witness the announement of the 2009
total.
Birmingham Lord Mayor, Councillor Michael Wilkes presented the main
sponsors with commemorative glass wear in recognition of their
support before cheques and equipment were distributed to some of
the invited charities.
"It's a fantastic job being done here for many years," said
Phil.
"I really do feel humbled by the power of good that's evident here.
There are so many good causes that will benefit."
Event Director, Tracey Spare enthused: "I'd like to thank our
commercial partners without whom the event could not be
staged.
"Those who particpated have generated an astonishing sum
of money in sponsorship which will improve the quality of life
for so many people across the Midlands.
"We've exceeded our wildest expectations and it's left me
speechelss. It's thanks to everyone involved, in whatever capacity,
that we're able to announce such a fabulous result."
The seven year total since the inception of the Great
Midlands Fun Run in 2003 now stands at £843,000.
