Online Fundraise With Virgin Money Giving

A major new initiative for 2012 will see the introduction of on-line fundraising.

A partnership agreement has been reached with Virgin Money Giving, to provide all Great Midlands Fun Run entrants' with the opportunity to use an exclusive on-line fundraising resource.

Event Director, Tracey Spare enthused: "I'm thrilled that we have been able agree a package with Virgin Money Giving to offer this facility for 2012.

"This is probably the most significant new initiative since the event was re-launched in 2003 as the Great Midlands Fun Run.

"Announcing how much the Fun Run has raised annually, is a very important aspect of the event for sponsors and entrants' alike. Until now, if any Fun Run entrant used an on-line fundraising resource, we had no means of tracking how much money they had raised or for which charity. Raising money for charity is after all the key objective of the event.

"This new partnership with Virgin Money Giving, means we can provide the most efficient and economical on-line fundraising opportunity to each entrant. Evidence clearly shows that more and more fundraisers are moving towards on-line collection and I'm confident this will help entrants generate even more money for charities and voluntary organisations."

"Virgin Money Giving is a 'not-for-profit' organisation, which means it can keep its charges lower than Just Giving, consequently more money reaches charities. Which means the hard work of completing the 8.5 mile Fun Run course is even more rewarding."

The Fun Run will continue to offer the traditional sponsor form method of collecting sponsor money, along with pre-printed credit slips for Lloyds TSB to make it as easy as possible for entrants to raise and pay-in sponsor money after the event on 10 June.
