Star Support put 'Fitness First'
Members of a small local Sutton Coldfield charity have taken to the gym to get themselves fit for the Great Midlands Fun Run on Sunday, 1 June.
After entering the Fun Run for the first time last year and raising £1200 for Star Support, Senior Counsellors Brigida Varley and Angela Eyles have enlisted the support of family and friends to join them this year to raise even more money for the charity.
Star Support has been operating in Sutton for four years providing counselling for victims and survivors of domestic abuse and to families who have been touched and bereaved through the trauma of suicide.
The charity offers a confidential and secure environment for clients to safely express their emotions by encouraging them to take control of their lives.Brigida said:“Regrettably demand for our services, which are free to clients, has significantly increased over the last few years.
“We rely on donations and fund raising to keep the charity going, so the Fun Run provides us with a great vehicle to generate funds.”
