Tamworth Groups benefit financially
Tamworth Olympic Gymnastic Club were
among a number of Tamworth based charities, voluntary groups and
Community Interest organisations to financially benefit from the
2009 Great Midlands Fun Run.

Coaches Lawrence Brazier and Nikki Glaze
were delighted to collect a cheque for £1800.
Over 400 people aged from 4 to 40 currently train with the club and
21 Nikki has been coaching since she was 15. She explained how the
money would be spent: "We will purchase a new air track to help
gymnasts practice tumbles. Without this specialist item of
equipment they simply can't learn to tumble correctly."
Other Tamworth based organisations to benefit include: Florendine
Primary School; TCR - Tamworth Community Radio; Whittington Primary
School & Argyle Pre School in Glascote.
Event Director, Tracey Spare enthused: "It's the first time
Tamworth Olympic Gymnastic Club has entered a team in the Fun Run.
They have now experienced the benefit the Fun Run can bring to an
organisation such as the gym club - not only from the financial
side but also building spirit within the club among family and
friends. We hope to see an even larger team next year."
